a guided tour in the salt districts of Formentera...

One evening Montserrat and I was on a guided tour in the salt districts of Formentera.
Very interesting and also very nice that Santi the guide speaks a little English and have been together with a Swedish girl long time ago. Interesting to know that Formentera and Ibiza is two island who export salt to the rest of Europe and that word salary comes from this districts, that they pay the workers with salt and there of the word salary these days.

The salt sea didn’t smell so good.

The evening light was amazing, I absolutely like or love lovely lights, it’s hard to get away with it, and it touches you in a deeper way. The salt seas turn into a nice pink colour and the sky was spellbinding.

I also saw a camp (no photos of this building) that Franco has build and keep a lot of prisoner in under the civil war in Spain, just to show the people at Formentera the power that he had, the most people at the island was against Franco and then he “needed” to show them who was the boss…

The Spanish Civil War was a major conflict that devastated Spain from 17 July 1936 to 1 April 1939.

For me the Spanish Civil War is interesting, my grand father was one of the volunteers who fight against Franco at that time and he was from Germany so it was not such a good idea in the end, but if you believe in something you have to fight for it.
