some kind of try outs to show that I care…

This autumn/winter I have been working at Kulturlabbet with colour and shape, a nice work BUT it has taking all my energy from my own stuff, therefore has my own work been on ice for awhile… I hope that next year will be a crazy creative year with a lot of opportunities.

This is the only small Christmas gift I have done this autumn/winter that have some connecting to my jewellery side of life, it’s wool brooches for close friends, family and friends in other countries, just a remember thing that I thinking about you and I’m happy that you letting me be your friend.

I was thinking of the Swedish landscape when I did them… you can may be feel the nature of the open landscapes and also some close up to the gardens with apple trees in.

Christmas smorgasbord...

Monday 13 December, St Lucia day…

I was invited by my work to smorgasbord at Liseberg, a nice evening with my colleges from Kulturlabbet and from the whole organisation of Göteborgs kyrkliga stadsmission, Kulturlabbet is a part of the whole organization.

We had to bring a Christmas gift for 30 Swedish kronor with us, and then in the end we get a gift… I get a porcelain Christmas pig… no useful at all, you can’t save money in it and you can’t use it on the kitchen table for salt …

Ours group had the good luck and sit by the window and have the ice skating-rink just outside, when we had the dinner the ice show started with a lot of good ice skating dancer/performance or what I should call it and a very very beautiful light, a great show that we could enjoy from inside the restaurant, this evening was really really cold I can tell.

some photos from Liseberg and all the lights…

Vilma Velasques, Tommy Hansson and Elisabeth Billander...

When I arrived to Liseberg on Monday afternoon, I got an hour by myself to walk around and look at all the beautiful lights in the park and also have the opportunity to visit my friends who was selling things in the design tower of Liseberg.

Vilma Velasques and I have been to the same school, HDK and we have contact since then.

Monday December 13th, St. Lucia…

I’m a hard working woman these days so tomorrow we will have a Lucia parade at work and at the evening we have Christmas smorgasbord at amusement park Liseberg, so I will not be able to post a Lucia tomorrow, therefore I post it today…

I wish you all a light St. Lucia with a lot of saffron buns and gingerbread and glögg.

St. Lucia is a traditional celebration held on December 13th in several Nordic countries in honor of St. Lucia, and during which several (usually) young people dressed in
white gowns carry candles and parade from house to house, serving the residents coffee, saffron buns and gingerbread cakes while singing traditional carols.

These days I’m not so creative with my own art and stuff, but I can always play with some photos in the Photoshop program…

fika tajm with my friend Paméla…

Friends are like stars, you not always see them but you know they are out there somewhere…
Paméla is one of all the stars that I know, we don’t meet so often, but when we do, we start were we ended last time.

now the answer my dear visitors and friends…

IF you wonder what this was I can tell that is a glass cleaner(?!)

In one way I get really fascinated about this kind of products and also very very angry…
First someone that call her/himself a designer has come up with this idea a that “we” can’t be without a glass cleaner, then they take their time and invent this crappy thing that I am really really sure not are function at all, and then someone build a machine to produce this kind of shitty product and then it get on transport to countries all over the world and then a silly person as me, buy it (I bought two!!!) and give it a way as a stupid gift …
This one my friend Anita got from me as a crazy Christmas gift and “talk about object” for her house… I hope she enjoys it and it starts a lot of discussions about what we create and produce, if it’s necessary or if we can be without it. I’m absolutely sure that we can be without this kind of products.

it’s already 3rd Advent…

Saturday Christmas market findings...

Yesterday I was at the Christmas market with my friends Anita and Malin, I didn’t take any photos, who is really really unlike me, but I was so filled up with all the craft objects and all the people so I didn’t have the lust or the energy.
I had a great day with good company and I meet some friends too, which always are nice, this time I hade to wish all the once that I meet Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, the time flies and soon I’m leaving Gothenburg for a long visit in my old hoods.

My findings at the Christmas market at HDK and Röhsska and Chockladfabriken yesterday.
I’m really really happy for my nice findings!

Eszter Imre
First I find two pair of earrings, one for me and one for a friend of mine.
The earrings are made by porcelain and are very very fragile, but that is a chance you have to take, if you know that they are fragile you wear them carefully, I hope.

Anki Eklund and Karin Agelii, Formkombi…
Then I meet an old friend Anki and she and another friend Karin have done funny and beautiful reflex brooches, I bought one, the firefly, even if it had been nice to have the both figures, but I am not made of money… I love the idea and here in Sweden it’s common that everyone, child or adult, use reflexes in the evening and night time under the early spring time, autumn time and absolutely under wintertime, when it is very dark outdoors.

Text from konstepidemins blog

Karin Agelii, Konstepidemin artist, together with the other half of the designduo Formkombi, Anki Eklund, received the Traffic security award 2010. Their reflexes combines traffic security with an appealing design that can attract more people to carry reflexes. Behind the award is Volvo and NTF Väst, that promotes traffic security.

The last Christmas market was at Chockladfabriken close to my home in Majorna, my favourite ceramic artist Eva Zethraeus has her workshop/studio there with two other ceramic artists and I bough a small lovely sculpture and two cups and then I swap a sculpture with her, so now I have to do a jewellery for her and that I look forward to, I’m so happy for my new sculptures, I already have some ceramic sculptures from Eva and I love them and I enjoy them very very much.

en sagolik jul or a fabulous Christmas...

Friday evening and the city turns to a Christmas fairytale with all the lights…
The item for 2010 is; en sagolik jul -a fabulous Christmas.

Here are some photos from the city and the opening ceremony at Götaplatsen where the Poseidon is standing.
I think it’s beautiful and I experience that the city has spend more time and money to do it nice for all the visitors.
