Hjärta, latin: cor, grekiska: καρδία kardía, är en muskel som fungerar som pump. Genom regelbundna sammandragningar pumpar hjärtat runt blodet i kroppen.

The heart is a myogenic muscular organ found in all animals with a circulatory system (including all vertebrates), that is responsible for pumping blood throughout the blood vessels by repeated, rhythmic contractions. The term cardiac (as in cardiology) means "related to the heart" and comes from the Greek καρδιά, kardia, for "heart".

The vertebrate heart is composed of cardiac muscle, which is an involuntary striated muscle tissue found only in this organ, and connective tissue. The average human heart, beating at 72 beats per minute, will beat approximately 2.5 billion times during an average 66 year lifespan, and weighs approximately 250 to 300 grams (9 to 11 oz) in females and 300 to 350 grams (11 to 12 oz) in males.
In invertebrates that possess a circulatory system, the heart is typically a tube or small sac and pumps fluid that contains water and nutrients such as proteins, fats, and sugars. In insects, the "heart" is often called the dorsal tube and insect "blood" is almost always not oxygenated since they usually respirate (breathe) directly from their body surfaces (internal and external) to air. However, the hearts of some other arthropods (including spiders and crustaceans such as crabs and shrimp) and some other animals pump hemolymph, which contains the copper-based protein hemocyanin as an oxygen transporter similar to the iron-based hemoglobin in red blood cells found in vertebrates.

Hjärta är en symbol som ofta har en positiv innebörd. Ofta är det en symbol för kärlek. Det krossade hjärtat är en symbol för olycklig kärlek. Symbolen kan även betyda hjärtat i kroppen. Ett hjärta avbildas oftast i rött men andra färger förekommer ibland. Dörrarna på gamla utedass pryddes ofta med ett utsågat, hjärtformat hål. Hjärter är en av färgerna i den moderna spelkortleken.

As the heart was once widely believed to be the seat of the human mind, the word heart continues to be used poetically to refer to the soul, and stylized depictions of hearts are used as prevalent symbols representing love.

I found this heart images and text at internet, I think they could represent the Saint Valentine's Day, a little bite more serious then a red commercial drawing heart at a postcard to the once you love.
I think this day have become a little to much commercial then I personally want it to be, it’s talking and written about gifts, delicious dinners for lovers and so on, roses, roses and again roses when the mind idea (as I think about it) is to take care and thinking about your closes friend and family and off course the one and only that you love.


Sometimes it’s good to remain that without a heart it’s no life and with a heart on the right place so to speak, it will be a better life for everyone, so take care and think about each other, be as good as you can and the goodness will come to you, I’m positive sure about that.
