Maria Olevik and Maria Larsson...

Traces
Objects in porcelain

I meet Maria Olevik and Maria Larsson at Svenska mässan, Sunday the 2nd of November. I really like their lamps… It was one of the few things at the Hem and Villa fair who was “art”… not only mass produced unique things… Hm?!
Can some thing be mass produces and at the same time unique??? I don’t think so, but some companies try to think that way I believe…

Ljus is a collaboration between Maria Olevik & Maria Larsson, both graduated from the department of ceramics and glass at Konstfack, the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Sweden 2006.

Ljus is working with objects in ceramic and glass in a spatial context.

We are trying to build up a relation between object and space, to create an atmosphere that communicates spatial stories about time.

Via slowness in the material and via reflection regarding the world around us we are trying to find a way to communicate, from the little unspoken to an overall picture, we look for signs that make it possible to relate our story.
We are trying to create metaphors regarding the human mind, the world around us and the nature.
