Monday 6/10 2008...

My way to Tollered by train from Gothenburg central station early in the morning… It’s always nice to see the sky shift colour when you go so early in the morning, from darkness to bright light sun (if you get lucky and it will be a nice sunny autumn day…)

To have a workshop in recycling material at Nääs Fabrikers crafts program at Nääs Fabriker in Tollered outside Gothenburg.

The workshop is at two Mondays, 6 & 13/10, for students from the silversmith program and from the design program. It’s a part in a bigger project that will ending up in some event at Svenska Mässan or, in English, Swedish Exhibition Centre is an exhibition and convention centre in Gothenburg, Sweden later on this autumn.

It’s a lovely environment out there; lots of nice angles, interesting old pieces left from the industrial days a so on.

This is what’s comes up after a day of investigate in different materials… the pupils had hard to work with things who didn’t get anything… it was hard for them to see and understand that they may be could have benefit of it later on… I can see that it was many great things that show up under this investigated day, and I hope some day they will understand and also have use of their experiences.

It’s a little problem these day, I think, that everything has to end up in “ready” pieces, the idea of learning a process to learn by “mistake”, to see what’s happened if I do this or that…
To learn by experience and that even if it’s not an end product, it’s away of reaching it in the end.
But in one way, the whole society is going in a very high speed; things have to be “good”, nice and interesting , you need to know what you are doing, why you are doing it and so on… and could I earn some money at it?!
A commercial thinking of/in things and time…

My workshop started with me showing photos from different angles of what’s happen in the design and jewellery art world, out there, in other countries… To inspired and open up the views.

Dig where you stand… the process is the way… go with the flow, see what’s happened when you drop your normal idea of who things are and who it should be.
Use your imagination, your fantasy, your creativity.
I think that many interesting things come up and here you can see some of them. I don’t know witch pupil who has done what, sorry for that, but the idea is to see the manifold of the day and the project.

Scroll down and see what’s happened…
Wokshop post; 1-26.
