cold and sunny…

A great white cold sunny week… beer with a friend on Thursday evening, a late evening, great lunch at a great place Lagerhuset, cozy surroundings and delicious food.

...

the second day with snow here in Gothenburg… and we still have snow.

My experience of the Gothenburg winter was totally wrong this year, we still have a great white winter and the snow is still falling. I thought that the first snowy day would end up in a grey mess as it always does in this hoods, but no… we had have a some sunny cold and white Christmas feelings days here.

Earlier this week... I visit Eva Zethraeus in her studio. We talk about our collaboration and I got new branches to play with and do new and hopefully great interesting jeweler pieces… 2013 you will see the result of it.

Konsthantverkscentrum har genom nätverket Folk och Form gått in i ett helt nytt samarbete med företagarföreningen i Linnéområdet, Göteborg. JärnJul är en marknad på Järntorget men mycket mer än så. Linné är ett område med ett växande antal studios och ateljéer, också med KHVC-medlemmar. Nu ska kreatörerna och handelsmännen tillsammans sätta Linné på kartan.

Startpunkten är Järntorget och marknaden med ett tiotal inbjudna kreatörer:

the first snow this winter…

3^rd December and the first snow is here… my first view this morning.

Finally the snow has reached even Gothenburg and my hoods in Majorna. I think it´s a little bit more Christmas like when the ground is white and when the snowflake are big and flip very very calm from the grey sky into the ground…

But I know since all my year here that this is too good to be true, in the end of the day or tomorrow this will be a grey sludge, that is something I never get used too I can tell… I want a cold white winter, not a less cold winter that is grey.

But today I can enjoy the snow and take a walk.

2006 in Cape Town...

2005 or mostly 2006 my way of working as I do today started after a trip to South Africa for one months, to study the way of using recycling material in art, I hang around whit this amazing and great “street people” on a pedestrian street near by Cape Town, I learn how to use beads and everyday life material to create art. For me this was a turning point in my art, but I have to sublime it into a Swedish context and make it act in my environment. It was a happy and interesting and very very nice time in my life and also for my artistry, I´m not sure that my way of working and using material have been accepted in Sweden yet, but I know that my aesthetics appreciates aboard and maybe that´s much better then to be a part of a stripped white and clean aesthetic that Sweden and the Nordic countries are known for?! I don´t know what´s the best, I am doing what I need to do and what I like and that I have a quiet story to tell about the consumer society, and I am doing it with plastic and color and an aesthetic that aren´t so common in Sweden. To be curios and see what’s coming up if I mixed material and objects interesting me a lot and I know for sure that if I use this kind of everyday material I need to take care and lift in some leaves, I can´t just add material together I need to use my knowledge as a silversmith to make my jewelry, you can´t do a good work if you don´t have the skills.

2007 in Krakow, Poland at galerii Bielak...

I found this link at internet when I was looking around today... It was a great meeting with the Bielak family and a great city and gallery... This was one of the exhibitions I arrange in my on line project 2005-2007. Maybe the first internet project by jewelry artist?! Love Jönsson was talking about this project in Germany. These days the internet has exploded, so everyone is connecting in one way or another, at this time when I started this project I was really really bad at English and the words I use was mostly; good, great or amazing. Not so many was comfortable with the blog idea, the way of adding photos and text, so it was a very hard project even if the will was strong, but I/we manage it in the end and we show our project in three places, on here in Sweden, one show in Norway and this one in Poland, my intention was that we should show our things that we have come up with in the participants country but that was not possible at the time, we had not so many contacts and the jewelry art was not so bit at that time, the jewelry art has become a bigger field under the year and that’s really really great!

Julmarknad i Atelje Korvfabriken Lördagen den 8 och söndagen den 9 december

Är du sugen på en lite annorlunda julmarknad? I sådana fall rekommenderas ett besök i Atelje Korvfabriken där det bland annat kommer finnas konsthantverk av olika slag till försäljning.

Lördagen den 8 och söndagen den 9 december är det julmarknad i Atelje Korvfabriken på Carnegiegatan 18, alldeles i närheten av Vagnhallen Majorna. Under helgen kommer det finnas konsthantverk av olika slag till försäljning samt serveras glögg och pepparkaka. Ateljen öppnar klockan 11.00 båda dagarna.
Namnet Korvfabriken kan ju tyckas lite egendomligt, men det har sin logiska förklaring i att det faktiskt var en korvfabrik fram till 1998 då lokalen tömdes, städades ur och blev en konstnärslokal. En som var med från början och såg till att det blev verklighet var Afsaneh Monemi som vi publicerade en artikel om för något år sedan. Afsaneh, är fortfarande verksam i ateljen, och initiativtagare till julmarknaden. Mer info finns på Facebook

I´m longing for a white Christmas…

This autumn I haven´t work as much as I want with my own jewelry stuff, it´s pity I think, but sometimes life’s looks like this, I have done a lot of other things and I have been very busy to catch up and so on, now the calm Christmas approach and I long for have a white Christmas with my family up in the North of Sweden, now it´s full winter up there and yesterday it was snow chaos…

I hope that next year will be an productive year for me and that I got the time to do what I have in mind to do, I have a lot of ideas, but right now, no time for it or no energy either.

This is a story that have involved the world, that the common people wins over the state, but now the duck framer Lou Baogen and his wife gives up and the house demolish… I see this human as everyday life hero’s, I think we all need this kind of persons in our life, to remained us of that we maybe not have it so bad in many ways, someone’s are struggle for their rights and some are laying down and giving up, in small or big everyday questions.
