En förlorad generation/ A lost generation...

Wednesday the 5th of November I had a culture evening with a friend, first we started with a falafel dinner and some small talks, then we went to the opening of Ann Sofie Back exhibition at the Röhsska museum, a great inspiration exhibition and opening with a LOT of visitors, we couldn't be in the show room all together, so the museum had to split and arrange two shows and kind of openings...

After the opening we went to  a play at Stora Teatern; En förlorad generation/ A lost generation. A great and interesting and right on the spot play! It was a special performance from Dramaten, Stockholm.

A great evening so filled with joy and thoughts and inspiration and laughter and good company!

BACK. Everthing Must Go! 5 Nov 2014 -11 feb 2015.

The back of Back...

Ann Sofie Back, I love it, I can recognize the "cheap" esthetic and the way of been inspirited by "ugly- cheap" things, I can find that attractive in some wired way too, the idea that someone comes up with an idea (earning money on a mass produced thing), then it been realized, factory's or machines build up to produce and sell for less money... but also the way of good or bad taste, who decide what is good/bad... and then a great and investigatory person and artist as Ann Sofie Back doing art out of the idea, and let us be a part of it in a same same but different situation or context.

Artist has to sell, and off course that´s a goal, but to exist and provoker is forgotten in our consumer society I think, as Albert Camus  say;  you need to be against you time to do great art. I believe it´s something to think about, you need to reflect, not just buy the things you see... THINK! and act...

I  have to say that I was very happy after I Ieft the opening of Ann Sofie Back - Everything Must Go! exhibition. I will absolutely return and hopefully also buy some of her products (talking about consumer society, and I NEED TO HAVE!!!), just to remember the great idea about the exhibition.

Ann-Sofie Back (born1971) is the 2014 winner of the Torsten and Vanja Söderbergs award  at one million Swedish  kronor.

spots from; Järntorget Friday morning and Vasaplatsen Friday evening...

I saw that Röhsska museum ( I believe) had add Ann Sofie Backs string pants idea in different spots of Gothenburg and for me it was hilarious funny, that people just pass by without knowing what they passing by... and off course it´s not a big deal to pass by things you don´t know about, but the thing I found funny is the contrast.
A great idea to show it public!

Mari Karlsson; luffarslöjd - tramp handicraft...

I run into this handcraft artist some weeks ago when I visit Malmoe, I couldn't stop thinking about the artist and her amazing work with playfulness and curiosity.

Now I do a more separate post about Mari and her art pieces, the art pieces I found on internet.

Mari, good luck and keep up the good work!
