Friday evening, dinner at Bombay, Fragmente by Lars Norén and after that beer…

A great evening in good company with my friend and college Karin Jonsson, always nice to hang around, have small talks about life and art, how we looks at our choice of profession as artist and so on, why we have become what we are today and so on…

The theater was great; it was a Norén play so you can imagination that it was a “deep black” play… I like it a lot and I think that the lines and the actors were amazing as always. The thing that hits me most this time was not the play more the profession actor, that this professional society work evening times, also most every evening in a week, doing the same moves the same lines every single day, every single perform just to pleas us others the beholders, to experience it once and then going home and been satisfied over that we have consume art in a great play. I absolutely think that we need plays as this once and I absolutely think we need professional actors too, and I absolutely think we need to pay for it, that the actors get the salary that they can live at… We need to think that they working time is when we “other” have our spare time.

I´m sick of it, to be a conscious consumer...

I´m not so found of how the life has turn into, that I always need to take care and when I have taking part and done my choose, a letter as this come in my mailbox; give us a second chance.

I´m not so found of to be a conscious consumer every time when I have to decide something that concerns my everyday life… I think this take too much of my lifetime… I don´t want to take care and look around for cheaper prices and better condition ever time… I´m sick of it, to be a conscious consumer.

I don´t think that Comhem has been so friendly or compliance when I have speak with them in the phone and now they will kickback with a trisslott, nja maybe not something I want for choosing a company. I can by my own trisslott.

 

at my bread and butter work...

At my bread and butter work we are doing different frames decoration for a flea market place… this is one of all the coming up pieces, I hope it will be around 25 in the end, may be more… This frame I have done, just to show how I am thinking and show how it can looks in the end… it not me that should do this decorations for the shop, it´s the  people that I work with the jobholders I´m the instructor at this work.

First tea and talk with my friend and then the film…

Yesterday evening I was at Hagabion and saw the film; För dig naken.

A great film about to find or search for love, a very very sensitive film filled with tender and love but also fragility, in some of the acts was it easy to laugh about recognition in the relationship between lovers, all the doubts all the thoughts and so on…

The film is about a great painter here in Sweden, Lars Lerin but I have to say even if he is a very very great and famous painter here in Sweden and all over the world too, this film was not about his greatness as an artist, this was a film about to find and keep love, the fragileness to be human.

Sara Broos who is are Lars Lerins goddaughter and also the film director has done an amazing work!

I think it one of the best documentary films I have seen for a very long time, it filled my heart and I walk away with a small smile on my lips…
It was also very needed for me to have a break from my indoors computer work, see something else and get new inputs into my grey autumn life.

Filmen vann Dragon Award för bästa svenska dokumentärfilm på Göteborg International Film Festival 2012. Juryns motivering löd: ”En generös och kärleksfull skildring av ett starkt möte mellan känslor och hjärna. Regissören bjuder in oss i en film om tolerans och om vikten om av att hålla sitt hjärta öppet. Och om att våga möta det okända. Med vackra och poetiska bilder följer vi på nära håll huvudpersonerna i medgångar och motgångar.”

From the Coolest Corner – Nordic Jewellery presents ground breaking and fresh jewellery from Northern Europe, a comprehensive selection of current works by artists from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Estonia. The best and most innovative art jewellery is presented, assessing its possibilities and potential at the beginning of the twenty-first century.

With 160 works by artists from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Estonia, this publication considers the significance, strategies and trends of Nordic jewellery art in the early twenty-first century. Expert authors present the backgrounds, developments and characteristics of contemporary jewellery.

 

General information

The touring exhibition, From the Coolest Corner, is conceived as a follow-up of the successful Nordic jewellery exhibitions in 1996/7 and 2002/3. Each Nordic country will be thoroughly presented at the exhibition. A total of about 160 works will be on show, including a selected group of artists from Estonia.

An international expert jury has selected the participants based on applications from the artists. The exhibition will feature the newest and most advanced of Nordic jewellery, and presented to a wide audience.

The exhibition will be shown in:

§  The Danish Design Museum, Copenhagen, Denmark

This weekend I try to add/put together my coming up speech, with photos and text… I have the idea and the concept ready but I have as always problem with the technique when it comes to the images, I need a technical support and I haven´t one, so I need to figured it out whole by myself. I hate when I´m not understand why the images in one program has the size that I need and when I export them they change size… What happen in between???

My idea is to add the whole speech when I have done it, but it will be in Swedish…

This is some tryouts on my bread and butter work; we will do some “crazy” 3-D collage in the end and this my way to show the jobholder what I mean about the task.

I love this objects very very much, but I´m not sure they ever will show up more than in this post this time.

May be it will lead me into something else, may be some other direction in my own artistry… You never knows.

Inspirationskällor

Bruksföremål i allmänhet, kitch i alla

möjliga former. För mig är det samma sak.

Man måste skapa sig en personlig

begreppsvärld i en situation som är så

splittrad och söndertrasad, kulturellt och

värderingsmässigt som vi har. Och det tror

jag att alla gör. Vi lever ju alla i en

multikulturell situation.

Konstnärens uppgift

Konstnärerna är oerhört viktiga. Nästan

oberoende av vad de håller på med. De skapar

alltid väldigt personliga korrigeringar av

alla möjliga hierarkier och gränser, i och

med att de just är ensamma. Konstnärerna

blir individuella röster som vrider saker åt

ett annat håll än det gängse. Arbetet kräver

det av en. Och det gäller lika mycket

författare och musiker och flera andra. Om

det sen är bra eller dåligt eller rätt eller

fel, det är inte så viktigt.

Ett samhälle eller en kultur utan

självständiga konstnärer som utgör den här

korrigerande kraften, vet man ju hur det ser

ut. Hur fritt det fria skapandet är i ett

samhälle, är ett lackmuspapper för den

demokratiska halten. Hur mycket anser sig

ett samhälle ha råd att ekonomiskt bära det

fria skapandet, oavsett vad det leder till.

Så att när det börjar pipas på vissa håll om

att det finns alldeles för mycket konstnärer

här och marknaden faktiskt inte kan ta hand

om alla dessa så blir jag väldigt orolig.

Jag tycker inte att det kan finnas för många

konstnärer.

Men det är inte konstscenen som är den här

korrigeringen, det är själva arbetets

utövande. Konstscenen är något helt annat.

Den verkliga haken i sammanhanget är

pengarna. En kultur måste, för sin

demokratiska trovärdighets skull, kunna bära

fritt utövande konstnärer av många sorter.

När det börjar gå så långt att vissa genrer

haussas eller när det här gnällandet börjar

om att det finns alldeles för mycket dålig

konst i det här landet. Och om AMS-konst och

om att KRO är en skitorganisation och allt

det där. Och att de flesta konstnärer gör så

dålig konst att de lika gärna kan lägga av.

Då blir jag väldigt nervös. För det är just

denna stora massa som ger kvaliteten en

möjlighet. Är det verkligen intressant vad

som är bra och dåligt? Och för vem är det

intressant?

I think this will be good for all of us that work with jeweler art. I meet Sigurd Bronger under my studies at HDK and I still remember his idea of making jewelry art; “I rater take other work than compromise with my art”. When I heard that speech about his way of thinking and working over a fika at HDK about 12-13 years ago, I decide to work as that too… I don´t want to compromise with my art, and IF I sell something it will be a great bonus and honor, but the selling part is the thing that drives me to make jewelry art. I am happy for the way Sigurd Bronger are thinking and I´m glad that I meet him early in my studies to become an jewelry artist, and I think that his way of working and thinking finally get result in this prize by Torsten and Vanja Söderberg.

This will be a spot to all of us that work with this small art field jewelry art. When someone in our field get this kind of prestigious prize it will spillover to the rest of us too.

Röhsska museets prisnämnd för Torsten och Wanja Söderbergs pris, med medel från Torsten Söderbergs stiftelse och Ragnar Söderbergs stiftelse har enhälligt beslutat att tilldela Sigurd Bronger årets pris om 1.000.000 SEK.

Prisnämndens motivering: "Årets pristagare är smyckeingenjör. Med sina objekt bjuder han oss med på en resa i ett mekaniskt sagolandskap, fullt av pojkdrömmar och romantiska och lustfyllda spratt. Sigurd Bronger tar oss tillbaka till industrialismens tidiga formspråk och renässansens uppfinningar, eller till framtidens utopiska visioner. Tid är ett material vid sidan om ädla metaller, diamanter och trä, allt noga utvalt och bearbetat under en lång gedigen process."

 

 

”Sigurd Bronger är en smyckeformgivare som verkar i den småskaliga och finkänsliga sfären; mellan det tidiga 1900-talets mekaniska industrialism, humor, kärlek till materialet, tid och det finslipade.

Brongers smycken är genusöverskridande, även om processen är lekfullt manlig – med kugghjul, finmekanik och underbara handgjorda förpackningar.

Tid behandlar han som ett material, vid sidan om mässing, ädelmetaller, diamanter och trä – allt noga utvalt och bearbetat under en lång gedigen process. Han berättade för oss, när prisnämnden besökte hans ateljé i Oslo att han skapar 3-4 nya objekt om året.

Industriromantik präglar Sigurd Brongers smycken och hans inspiration är instrument och maskiner. När jag ser och känner på Brongers smycken, känner jag mig som en liten pojke som besöker ett tivoli eller fångas upp i en underlig sagomekanisk värld – jag glömmer allt annat runt omkring mig.

Sigurd Brongers formkonst förändrar min bild av vad som är möjligt.”
