I MANEGEN

Allt pågår i manegen, föreställning efter föreställning. Av vissa minns man bara fragment. Med tiden smälter minnen samman och blir till något nytt.
Som skådespelare och akrobater rör sig mina figurer och deras redskap över sina scener, ingen vet var dom varit eller vart dom är på väg, inte ens dom själva minns längre…

Galleri hnoss 30 augusti – 21 september

Annika Åkerfelt, född i Finland men nu verksam i Stockholm, inleder höstens utställningar på Galleri hnoss.
Annika utbildade sig till smyckekonstnär på Högskolan för Design och Konsthantverk
(MFA 2004) i Göteborg efter att ha läst till guldsmed i Finland.
Hon har haft ett flertal utställningar de senaste åren, både i Sverige och utomlands och är känd för sina smycken i porslin.

"Jag arbetar med porslin i liten skala, fastän relativt stor i smyckesvärlden. Med precision och tålamod gestaltar jag smycken och objekt som är unika fastän de är gjutna. Med mina gjutna delar bygger jag egna världar. Jag sammanfogar dem och använder mig av guldsmedstekniker i materialet, variationsmöjligheterna är oändliga. Jag utvecklar egna dekaler, där det tvådimensionella trycket på de tredimensionella formerna blir något eget. Jag hämtar inspiration i vardagliga ting där betraktaren lockas att utveckla egna associationer utanför objekten, mitt arbete anspelar på igenkännandet och erfarenheter hos betraktaren. Om man dröjer sig kvar för att något har fångat ens intresse, kan man upptäcka saker man delvis känner igen. Smyckena i denna serie är bärbara men fungerar även som skulpturer då de inte bärs på kroppen."

When I arrived from my two weeks trip to my hometown and some time with my family I had got a mail from my friend Joanne Haywood, with some birthday’s things… So glad for the Scottish seeds, the nice badges that she have done, and a lot of interesting brochures about crafts in the UK.

Some parts of my summer…
I have been two weeks in or around my hometown Sundsvall, I’m raised on an island outside Sundsvall, Alnö is the name of the island and for a long time this was an important place for the tree industries in Sweden, once the Alnö bridge was the longest bridge in Sweden and we have an minerals that you only can find here at Alnö and in Kimberly in Africa.

What have I done???
First my parents was invited me and my sister and her two lovely children to some days in Rättvik, Dalarna, a beautiful place!

Then we where in Sundsvall and doing short trips near by, we were to the High Coast of Sweden, my absolutely favourite place in Sweden, I will live there when I get older… and I hope my dream will be true about that idea.

Me and my sister was on beaver safari, but we only see frogs and a lot of mosquitoes, no beavers at all, but a nice forest trip and some mushrooms to take home for butter fried dinner.
My parents and I took a boat trip around the Sundsvall archipelagos one beautiful evening; it was really, really great!

I turn into 42… I have a small birthday celebration with my sister and her children, my mum and dad and my grandfather, who is 92 years old now, and he is still going strong.

I was out with some old friends, talking and drinking beer in Sundsvall, it was really, really great too, to meet these old friends that I have been out travelling with when I was in the latest teenage…

I will add some more photos from my holidays, later on…

Konsthantverkscentrum, KHVC... the yearly market in Gothenburg.

Konsthantverkscentrum, KHVC, was initially set up by the Swedish Association of Craftsmen and Industrial Designers (KIF) in 1992 as a response to the growing interest in crafts.
The aim is to promote Swedish craft. Today over 750 professional craftspeople are members, which makes KHVC the largest crafts organisation in Sweden.

All members have a degree, bachelor or master, from a university program, or have passed a jury selection, all in order to keep a highly professional profile.

KHVC promotes craftspeople and their work, inform and advice galleries, architects, public art bodies etc. for commissions and other projects.

KHVC informs makers about business and learning opportunities in a printed newsletter published four times a year and on the web site "members' pages".

KHVC is funded mainly by the Ministry of Culture.

KHVC runs offices in Stockholm, Göteborg and Örebro.
KHVC often cooperates with other organisations and institutions.

Some days feels like this… You or I am stirring at something, you need to do a lot of things, and you don’t know where to start…

I have been out of town for two week, having a wonderful time with my family, I will add it as soon as possible, so I can share the fantastic Sweden with the rest of you…
I have been working to much this week (two different works, and I feel and sounds like a martyr… BUT it’s good works, so I should not complain…).
